After the day I had had with Belize Bank which is another story I needed one of these concoction s before I could get in the mood for the cook off this month.
It doesn't have a name yet but believe me it was oh so good.
Here we go bringing out the fabulous dishes for people to sample.
These two were wearing the right colour to be in Lime so worthy of a photo!
Here we go from 1 to 10, we start off with Salbutes which were from El Fogon.
Then there were Beef Enchiladas from Jamilla, next to that were Chicken Tamales from Ingrid at Saga.
Then there were Chicken Flautas and Stewed Chicken both from Lime Bar & Grill.
Then there was another batch of Tamales from Wade and then a fish lasagna fr4om Maureen Dalgarno.
Then another dish from Maureen aka Madame which was a pork ginger with rice.
Beth and Christine were all ready to go and start serving people. We learnt the hard way last time that you have to portion out to people otherwise it all disappears very quickly. Look at all the delicious food looks good enough to eat!
Looks like a lot of food at this angle but once 50-60 people have a go at it there is never a lot left.
As it was a Belizean theme we left all the Independence day bunting up to support this great place and the people in it.
Check out those desserts, they were just oh so fine and added the perfect finish to 10 great dishes.
People came ate and mingled.
Wade always a supporter of everything we do for Saga and at Lime-bless.
Saga gang were hanging out on the comfiest sofa of all time, waiting to see if Ingrid won.
There were the regulars and some lovely tourists that came to support the wee furry ones.
Three tired blonde's-no jokes needed thank you very much. All very prominent Foths members and still smiling after a long day on regular jobs and then our part time one for nothing but thanks! Anyhow feel sorry for us yet? I hope not as we love it and are doing it to help the animals of San Pedro.
So it's a holiday here in San Pedro Belize just for a change! This time however is for a great reason and time for Belize to celebrate their Independence, bit like the kick a Brit day on the 4th of July so aptly named by Chris Burkey!
We chose today to launch our very scrumptious doughnuts in Lime which were just a dollar each and worth every single calorie, the diet starts on Tuesday this week!
So there sits JD and Jimjam waiting? Noting the signs that we are smoke free between 8am-3pm and actually acknowledging this for once without being nagged by the girls!
What a happy bunch, or motley crew as Amanda Syme posted on face book the cheeky devil, it would have been if she had joined us! Am thinking all those smiles may be something to do with all the beers in ones hands-answers on a postcard!
Here she is the one and only Coletacus (new nickname from Christine, great story on that one and another day). Is that the royal wave for Belize she is giving us?
Such a busy bee but a total female as shown by doing many tasks at once.
People kept joining the gang and fun on the Lime balcony but some sat their ground and claimed their chairs.
Here we go people are heading past us to the starting point and there were some great flashes of colour.
Some lucky devils got a ride and were lucky enough to be cute enough to pose on the wagons.
Kiss my arse said Colettacus as she heading to find the judging point.
As can be seen and for those that know San Pedro and this area it was all a very tight and always going to have a wee bit of congestion.
Here they come it is official the parade has started and only about an hour late which is great for Belize!
Don't they look cute and fresh and so happy to be part of something so great.
Both side of the road were very busy, we were so on the right one as we had beer on tap.
Marie of Ghecko Graphics on the right hand side was one of the official judges and chose Lime Bar & Grill as her spot to do so.
We had a good crowd of locals and gringos and tourists all hanging out together.
Time to sharpen ones pencil and make notes on who and why were worthy of Marie's vote!
DJ Debbie was just fab and so energetic and loud, maybe I can have her job next year!
This is possibly my favourite shot of the whole day, these two were just adorable.
Wow how does miss San Pedro stay so slim after snacking on those chips, I eat them and couldn't get one thigh in that blue number!

Parade over time to catch up with some of our good buddies, well Phil popped in to find his wife!
Very lovely picture and lovely to have these pair back from their trip to New Orleans, Craig and Tracey. Thank goodness she's back as now I can have some time ooooffff again.
This picture sums up what we are all about here in San Pedro Belize. We have a great community and days like today pulls us all together to remember that and appreciate what we have. The parade was the best yet, people put a lot of effort into it the weather was totally on their side and it was good clean fun!
Laurie and Jim's smiles capture the tone of the whole day, here's to Belize for being what and who they are and here's to many more days celebrating cheers and TTFN.
We have now made it impossible not to get on the right golf buggie after a tipsy Friday evening in Lime as ours now has a bloody great sign on the back of it!
Many comments came yesterday to all that drove around in it (sorry Christine), the most original was " what's hot then?" of course the answers are endless and we will spend many minutes each day coming up with some one liners to shut them up-however as with everything here in San Pedro it is all in good taste and fun.
Now getting pretty caught up with stuff at Lime and the Humane Society, huge launch of the calendar on the 4th October. Much blogging will follow very soon especially as the wee ones seem to get up around 4.30am right now and want to go outside! Hope the weekend is going well, we are having a holiday Monday just for a change therefore a Barbe bash at Boydie's, you gotta love this place for following the British, American and Belizien holidays TTFN!
Good morning followers, I have had a couple of emails asking where the photos are of our fabulous trip. Since being back at work I have been swamped as a couple of the girls are now off so they are out there and will be coming soon enough.
All great in San Pedro, the weather (touch wood) has been on our side with very little rain for September. Nothing too threatening out there so fingers crossed that that continues.
Lime has had some great nights which will also be posted very soon and the dogs are as cheeky and naughty as ever. What is it they say about dogs and their owners well Lisbon had my bad traits and Jackie my good ones, great stories to follow on that too. For now know that you are all thought about and please continue to log on, like a good red wine it will be worth waiting for TTFN.

I am back in the lovely San Pedro and all is well, I have two dogs thank to my good friend and resident hairdresser Christine. My house is in one piece and pretty much as I left it!
Lime is still there with many funny stories during my absence but no photos to complete those as the camera was in Europe!

Fatima Fundraiser

Many people had gathered and it was early yet, very unusual for Belize and people to be early.
A lovely day to be chilling out and catching up with friends over a beer or two!
Jamilla hard at work doing what she does best! Taking the money and keeping the books straight.
Jamilla had been busy since the cook off Friday night helping her good friends with today.
Look at this young beautiful girl, it pulls at your heart to know what she is going through, thank goodness she has so much love in her life.
These women are one beautiful and strong group that are supporting each other in every way.
I believe over $14000.00bz was raised today for Fatima which is a great start and help towards all the treatment she needs. Our next cook off is on the 16th October and will be pizza with all the proceeds going towards Fatima so come and join us!

Time to count those votes and announce the winners of this months cook off.
The number 1 dish was the overall winner which were the Salbutes from El Fogon, she won an Ipod Shuffle- a green one of course!
Maureen came second for her fish lasagna and won some wine, jewelry and dog lights.
Ingrid from Saga was third with her fantastic homemade Tamales, bless her I think she made 100 of them after a day at the clinic-she is super women and to be honest is Saga.
A better one of this absolute cutie pie, we don't often see her with her hair down and not covered in animal stuff!
The cook off winner gets to pull out the winning raffle ticket for some chocs so who is it?
Colleen from Rendevouz won this time and nearly strangled me in the process!
This great group of women insisted on helping with the clearing up as well and bringing some of the dishes. They can and will come to each and every one of these monthly events from now on and that's an order!
After the busy night we had had I figured I deserved another one of these naughty but nice little numbers.
One of my favourite guys on this Island Grant, another Foths/Saga member always ready to give a hand.
There's that cheeky Scotty again Jock with his buddy actually named Scott.

Mary and Tamara from The San Pedro Sun came to offer their support and take photos for next weeks paper as they always support Saga and Lime. It makes a change for them to be in a picture and not the ones taking it. They are both foodies along with most of us and have promised to be in the next one!

We raised over $500bz for Foths/Saga which was ok as it was a quieter time of year and had been Independence day so a busy week for drinking and partying. The next cook off will be Friday 16th October and is likely to be a pizza one as that has been requested many times and there are a few out there that can go against each other and prove who really has the best pizza in San Pedro. Once again thanks for following this blog and making it worthwhile for all the time spent keeping it up to date.
