Happy 21st Juvinie Sabido

A quiet Saturday afternoon-not! We hosted the start of the celebrations for Juvinie as it was his 21st birthday and the first stop was Lime.

He was out with some of his closest friends who were all up for the celebrations.

This wig was doing the rounds and we made Carlos try it on for size.

How cool are they, Liliana and Juvinie are two very photogenic people, she is a former Miss San Pedro who gets more attractive as time goes by, miss World next!

A great group of friends for sure.

Time for shots
Time to boogie
An ariel shot
Time for champers

Lots of people came to wish him a happy birthday

Milo Paz came to celebrate and buy a few rounds for his staff.

Cassidy and Milly were very happy to have a Saturday afternoon this lively.

Time for the wig again

Cayote Ugly eat your heart out at this is San Pedro beautiful.

Work it baby!

Karen and Omar stopped by to see what was happening and asked if there was always a party going on in Lime-the answer I guess is yes most of the time.

The boys are never one to miss a good time either.

Outside is a great people watching spot, no-one can go in or out of town without being seen so Milo was stopping people to come and have a drink.

Still going strong!

The birthday boy, having a great time.

Love this guy, Gerry from Gecko Graphics another good guy to have around for a party!

Time for thos naughty Yeagar shots! Well where there is JD there is Jeagar!

Milo is as bad a man as JD!

Well if it's time for bar tricks it's time to go home, it was a great afternoon spent with some fabbo people, happy birthday young man-well not so young now I guess! CHEERS

Another week comes to a close TGIF!

My good friend Denise popped over to say hi and give me stuff for our yard sale fundraiser for Saga on Sunday.
Stopped in to see JD at reef Village and have a beer or two!

Ok we had a cocktail or two!

It wouldn't be fair to have all my fav people in a post without featuring the dogs also so hi from Jacks.
Hello from Lisbon too.

Is she cute or what?

Look who walked into Lime this Friday evening to totally surprise me, Karen and Omar Cruz! Our version of Tom and Kate Cruz eh!

I have no idea why the silly faces but to be honest what is new with these guys.

Time for that naughty black stuff.

Enough of that nasty stuff onto our tipple of the night which is now slippery nipples!

Another Friday evening came and went in a nano second, spent having good food, good drinks and great company, roll on the weekend and what's in store with that?

Birthdays and cake!

Happy birthday to our lovely Beth Hart who celebrates her first one living here full time on Ambergris Caye. We just had a quiet lunch at Sunset Grill as she didn't want a fuss. Well you know us lot, always ready to listen and obey!
So she comes to Lime for a quiet Tuesday night to have fish n chips (french fries) to those of you from the other side of the pond! She walks in to find just a few friends ready to greet her and share a glass or two of adult beverages.

These two as in Neil and Jock are regulars for good old English fish n chips and Colman's mustard which we are very short on to anyone coming to visit soon, hint hint.

Not sure what the joke is but these pair are always laughing at something or someone!

Most of the A listers came to wish Beth best wishes.

Here we have Kim and Kathy from Cauldwell Banker who are two great ladies, always up for supporting whatever we have going on. We opted out of Yeagar shots but did Tequila and slippery nipples instead-ummmmm my new shot of choice when given one!

We had been raffling a phone for the past week to raise money for a young local lad that needs immediate treatment so time to draw the winning ticket and of course Beth was the person to do this.
My good friends from New Jersey, Caroline and Chris had the winning ticket, check out her gorgeous smile.
Robbie is the king of selling tickets and between him at Roadkill and us at Lime we raised over $700.00bz which was sent off to the family this week in Guatemala.

That time of the evening on a birthday and as Beth loves cheesecake that is what we had, an oreo chocolate cookie one.

Beth and Maya were having a giggle as these naughty little candles just wouldn't blow out!

Go on Beth give it all you got!

A very triumphant look on the birthday girls face, she was not about to be beaten not today!

This lovely pair were at every event in the past week and great to have around the place as they light it up with those smiles. Their time went way too quickly but they will back next year and the year after and hopefully many more to come.

My special friends from New Jersey, whom I hope we will see year after year also.

Caroline calls me her sister in Belize, you see the resemblance? You have to love this lady to pieces as she truly is one of the biggest animal lovers you could ever meet. Saying that she loves everything and everyone especially her fantastic husband Chris.

Check out those grins on the guys, Chris and our big teddy bear Scottie.

I know this isn't the best picture of Marie and she may be a bit mad at me for posting it but it came to that time of night way too quickly. Time to pay and head home as it is a school night and we all have work tomorrow even in paradise one has to be sensible now and again!

Happy Birthday to our very good friend Beth, hope to celebrate many more with you here in San Pedro, Belize cheers and TTFN.

Nights out and fund raising!

This is just a taster of the wild pictures I have from this night but this is just to show that when we need to raise money in San Pedro we do it in style!
Desi Rosado a regular to Belize being a native and all that came to support the cause and buy some cocktails.

For my friends in the UK that follow this blog this was myself showing Colette the man I feel like a woman dance!
People were not shy about getting up on that stage esp Helda and Colette and Diane as they can all hold a note or two!

The crowd was well into it and to say it was the most entertaining evening in while is an understatement!
Helda singing with a beer bottle with people bowing down to her no less! Like I said this was just a taster as I have so many good pictures that the blogging will take a while but had to get a few teasers out there.

Hello to faithful blog followers!

This lovely couple Cindy and Charlie from Arizona came into Lime to while away some time as they were leaving to go back home.
They have been following my blog hence knew all about what we have been getting up to and all the fund raising for Saga Humane Society. Great people not only because they drink and love animals but are just all round good eggs in our book so here's to you guys lovely to meet you and hurry back to San Pedro to hang out some more cheers for now.

Lasagna San Pedro style!!!

Here goes the long awaited day of the lasagna cook off for Saga Humane Society, we needed to raise $800bz to light up Fort Dog which is where the Saga dogs are kept till adoption.

From 5.30pm the dishes were being delivered and wow what an array of Lasagne's we had, Sandra the owner of Portofino was one of the first.

Very professional looking it was too.

Kevin the owner of Sunset Grill was also very prompt with his entry and what a dish of seafood lasagna that was.
Check it out would you want to try this one in a hurry or what?

Here you go some mouth watering dishes to tempt the taste buds!

Kathy and Kim some great regulars of Lime and huge supporters of Saga Humane Society, putting in their entry and very happy to do so as you can see.

JD's wife Maureen aka Madame put in her entry below.

Thirteen fantastic dishes were brought in for people to pay to taste and then judge on their favourite.

Beth cut them into small portions to help people get through as many as possible.

They are off, 6pm came around, the dishes were all lined up and the tasting began.

Maya leading the front of the gang and always one to enjoy some good food who manages to plough her way through rather a lot.

Another happy lady and huge animal lover enjoying the atmosphere of the whole thing.

All ages welcome

There is that man again with the lively shirt, Todd from Dallas another huge supporter of our Humane Society.
The newspaper gang are here to not only publish this event but to get to taste it this time.

Paul aka Taco boy another great supporter of events in San Pedro and a good friend.

Grant having a wee taste of that one!

Rosa and hubby, Rosa is our financial lady on the board of Saga always keen to support the fund raising efforts and see the money that will be coming in.

Neil happy to sample a few dishes for $10bz and help the cause and hang out with the gang.

The lovely Ingrid who has worked at Saga for many years and really helps to keep the place going and make it home for the strays.

More happy faces and regulars of Lime.

The slimmer JD just having a forkful of each dish as still watching his weight!

Laurie the Vet another regular at our fundraiser's always happy to meet people and chat.

It's me I know camera shy but what can you do! OMG I was about to try each and every single one of those dishes but just a forkful.

Colette and Maya two huge supporters of everything on San Pedro esp Saga/Foths, very content now that they have been fed!

Waiting for 8pm and time to count the votes and do the raffle.

Robbie a happy chappy!

Serious stuff, Colette and I counting the votes which I have to say were so close this time.

Beth was our adjudicator.

Laurie and Ingrid did a speech to thank everyone for coming and the Limey's for hosting this.

3rd place was Hungry Monkey and Carole Goudreau, followed by Sunset Grill who were a very close second, so who was the winner you ask?

The one and only Jock (Martin to his mother) McPake who has always boasted on being a good cook and I guess we now have to bow to that title as his was voted the best Lasagna.

Love this girl, Caroline who always has a smile on her face and is as lovely inside as out!

More smiley people

He is one happy chappy for sure and his friends can't believe it.

The lovely Milly

It wouldn't be a Humane Society fundraiser without some four legged friends around so meet Marley, Cassidy's dog.

My fund raising partner in crime Grant who is on the Saga board and always surrounded by women.
There is no getting that smile off his face, a very proud Jock.

Goodbye for now from Cassidy and Marley and the gang, thanks to everyone that supported us from near and far the animals of San Pedro love youX

Lasagna Cook off for Saga

Today is our monthly cook off in Lime for The Saga Humane Society at 6pm till 8pm. For just 10bz people get to try as many dishes as they would like and get to vote on their overall favourite who then wins a prize.
Will they look like the picture above I wonder, check out my blog after tonight and see for yourselves cheers and ttfn.

Lime challenge is over!

20 people started the Lime challenge in April and 10 were at the finishing weigh with a total loss of 115.5lbs between them. We raised nearly $250bz for Saga and had a few laughs along the way. One of our lovely men mentioning no names-Dan Blair took great delight in putting on weight every single week for the first six weeks then kicked in and lost 3.5 from his original weight! His wife had to endure his constant baking of cakes, cookies and fudge but managed to lose 11lbs by the end of it.

These two as in Robbie and JD were neck and neck for most of the competition and it was so close with one winning one week and the other the following. Each of them popped into Lime throughout the week and jumped on the scales to monitor their progress, as you can see Robbie was very keen on our big calculator and percentages!

JD was very proud of himself as he has constantly lost weight every single week and is looking the slimest we have ever seen him. Thank goodness he's sitting today and not standing with his trousers around his legs!

So the biggest loser but for sure the biggest winner is- JD, with a staggering 36bls lost which was 14.66%! Robbie was a very close second with 37.5lbs lost which was 12.5% of his original weight.

Still friends and both superstars in our book!

So with the challenge over it was time for some frozen custard from Dande's which was fab as always.
Not cake but it will do

Scottie new to the island, our gang and frozen custard, welcome to San Pedro Scottie boy.

4th July Saga Humane society fundraiser

The place to be on the 4th July in San Pedro this year was Pedro's sports bar as there was a family fun day fundraiser for the Humane Society.

It was hot but thanks to Belikin and the tent their was plenty of shade to stay out of the sun.

As always our dogs are well looked after and no worries I am sure that there is water in there and not beer!
Look at these cuties, many people wanted to take them home so hopefully they won't be at Fort Dog for very long.
="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5355574872226280210" border="0">Holy Moly it's Walter in his ice cream cart.

Cindy the beer fairy keeping everyone refreshed as always.

There was live music from The Small World Band which were as lively as always even in the heat.
The silent auction of which there were many prizes thanks to the generous businesses in San Pedro created a lot of interest.

What to bid for amongst so many was the problem for many.

A good chance to catch up with people we just pass in a golf cart on many days.

Is he cute or what? Of course I meant the baby as the big one is Alex!

As always within San Pedro the community came together had a fun day out and raised some much needed funds to help the animals of Ambergrise Caye. As is our moto within FOTHS we are helping our animals one step at time and today was a huge leap forward cheers for now till the next event!

Tours in the mainland of Belize

So here we are in the mainland of Belize and kinda on a working trip as there are some new tours that I have never done and we are going to be booking from Lime. One has to do these things to know what they are waffling on about so here is the start of a couple of great days spent sussing it all out.
My good buddy Karen from the Jungle Dome has to do them also as she books all the tours for her guests so it was a chance to do something together and it is our birthdays!

My great buddy Racquel from Chicago came for this week especially and that was a reason to get away from the island so that we could have some time together too and I knew she would love all this outdoor stuff.
Ummm check out these clean and fresh ladies, note my white t-shirt courtesy of my friend Michelle that is bright white right now!

Looking very comfortable on that machine and knowing what trouble she plans to cause as it had just rained a couple of days ago so this place is very muddy!

I have never been on one of these in my life however for those of you that know me know I love speed. Also what I am like in a car or more importantly a golf buggie so the thought of tearing around in this was very appealing, once I got the hang of the beast I was sitting on!

At the starting point once we had all had a go around with our guide, where is a man with a gun to set us all off, oh I forget it isn't a race!

Karen is rearing to go look at that wee devil, sorry about the finger in most of these pictures our guide took them.

This was me going through the first major mud ridden puddle but you will see shortly that this pose was given up just to blast through it all.

Check out those smiles, we are like kids in a sandpit!

Like I said it had been raining a lot the previous few days so this track was very slushy.

This little monkey knew what she was doing and kept trying to blast me with water which you can do to the people in front of you and behind so I tried to steer clear of her.

Another tinker who was just as bad! She may look all sweet and innocent but believe me Karen is just as mischievious as the rest of them! I am no better either as you will see from the color of us at the end!
Yep I got her once or twice and didn't even realise at first what i was doing, this is soooo much fun!

The guide was a gem running all over the place taking photos and helping us all when we got stuck once or twice which I admit I did more than the others.

Karen had learnt to hang back from racquel as she had sussed oput the blast the person behind you technique!
It was clear bright day with shade from the trees, no-one else in our way so we had the run of the place.
Mrs Cruz was really into it now

Time for one last spin around the learning track at the start and time to really show off with us all overtaking each other!

Hating every minute of this adventure can you tell?

They both cut me of at the end which I thought very harsh of them

Still friends, still smiling but not still clean!

Check out those filthy feet, legs and clothes!

This man is so much fun and full of energy, made the whole tour a blast and cute too!

I guess this has been used once or twice in the past and very handy, an outdoor shower in the jungle.
Racquel made sure my original whiter than white shirt was no longer, sorry Michelle!

I think I am going to do jungle training with the army now as am all covered in mud from head to foot! This is not the case all the time and I did have a little help from my friends!

They have a bar which does all the local beveridges and snacks and there are bathrooms on site also. A great tour which can be combined with something else too if time permits like the cave tubing and zip lining. Well worth it while on the mainland and the chance to mussy up a friend or two in rainy season so we all gave it 8-9 out of 10!
